Parents and Dancers,
Ages 2 years - 1st Grade
For 2-3 year olds, 45 minute dance classes designed to aid motor development.
Parents must remain in waiting room. Children must be 2 years old by the first day of class.
For 3-5 year olds, 1-hour dance classes once or twice per week.
Classes emphasize rhythm, musicality and flexibility through Pre-Ballet and Pre-Tap.
Kinder - 1st Grade
For Kindergarten – 1st Grade, Each class includes Ballet and Tap or Jazz and Hip Hop.
Emphasis on technique, body alignment, rhythm and flexibility begins at this level.
All dancers must be currently enrolled in a Dancers Workshop ballet/tap combo class to be eligible for the jazz and/or hip hop class.
2nd Grade and Up
For 2nd Grade and Up, Artistic dance form characteized by grace and precision of movement and an elaborate formal technique. Developing body alignment, posture, working flexibility, strength, and coordinating movement are all stressed at this time.
Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes.
Prerequisites: All dancers must currently be enrolled in a Dancers Workshop ballet class to be eligible for pointe or prepointe. Pointe is in addition to their technique class and to be used as a supplement in their training.
For 2nd Grade and Up, Stylized theatrical dancing based on many other forms of dance and influenced by American jazz music
Prerequisites: 2nd-3rd grade dancers must currently be enrolled in a Dancers Workshop ballet class to be eligible for jazz.
For 2nd Grade and Up, 1-hour dance classes revolving around a contemporary style of street dance.
Ballet is strongly recommended for 2nd and 3rd graders.
For 2nd Grade and Up, Presents various rhythms made by movements of the feet. Tap develops timing and coordination.
Prerequisites: 7th Grade and Up, All dancers must currently be enrolled in a Dancers Workshop ballet and jazz class to be eligible for turns and jumps classes.
