Scott Hislop:  Los Angeles Master Teacher and Choreographer
“Austin Dance Works and Dancers Workshop have brought me in to teach for the last 7 years.  Seven years of friends, family, caring parents, loving teachers, and most of all, hard working students.  I don't take for granted the wonderful opportunity I have to be a part of this institution.  Thank you for having me back again and again and again!”

Adam Parson:  Los Angeles Master Teacher and Choreographer
“Working with ADW Dancers makes me happy because whether or not they go on to dance, I know they will be great human beings.  And I mean that!”

Evan Anderson:
“I owe all of my accomplishments to Austin Dance Works and Dancers Workshop!  The studio and its amazing teachers gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams and the ability to achieve them!  Thank you for everything you have taught me.  I love you all so much!”
After graduating high school, Evan moved to Los Angeles where she studied dance through the yearlong EDGE Scholarship Program.  She later signed with Bloc Talent Agency and worked for a couple of years as a professional dancer.  She had the opportunity of working with artists such as Leona Lewis and Katie Perry and also danced in several commercials and live shows including the Nip/Tuck promo for their fourth season.  Evan now lives in Dallas where she is working toward a degree in Dance Education through Texas State and also performing as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.  In addition, she is teaching dance at Studio A in Southlake, TX.

Audrey Douglass:
"ADW was my second family. We had so much fun together and learned so much from each other. The technique and artistry I gained from the company is amazing. We always used to joke about making one of the studios our dorm, since it felt like it was our home away from home!
Dancers Workshop is the best thing that could have happened to me. It changed my life in so many ways. The positive environment and incredible direction has given me an amazing foundation to pursue my dance career and enrich my life. And, of course, I will always remember Miss Dawn's crazy pranks and stories!!!!  Dancers Workshop is the best!!!”
Audrey’s TV credits include dancing on the TV Land Awards, Glee, MTV 3 Los Premia Awards, and music videos with Shakira, D. Willz and AvA.  She is a Rockette in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and has performed on stage in LA Opera’s “La Traviata” and for JT Horenstein’s The Question.

Hannah Douglass:
“There is no way I'd be where I am today without the training I received in ADW! Very few dancers out here have the discipline, respect, and drive to learn and improve like the girls from Dancer's Workshop do...traits that do not go unnoticed in this industry! I will also never forget those infamous dress up parties lead by Dawn in Los Angeles each summer! “
Hannah will soon be seen dancing in the feature film, Iron Man 2!  Her TV credits include The Pink House pilot, Americas Got Talent Finale, Glee, The American Music Awards with Leona Lewis, MTV Music Awards with Adam Sandler and Dancing with the Stars with Seal.  She has also performed in music videos with Kevin Stea, Basement Jaxx and Britney Spears.

Gelsey Mahanes:
“ADW helped make me the dancer, teacher, and choreographer I am today.  ADW enabled me to become a professional dancer and win scholarships by providing me opportunities to work with some of the best choreographers and by giving me exciting performance opportunities.  Through the process, I made lifelong friends and gained the necessary experience to dance professionally in LA and NY.”
Gelsey enjoys performing in film, television, and on stage as a Radio City Rockette.  A recent highlight of her career was performing for President Obama and his senior staff during a private White House Christmas Party.  She has also appeared as a spokeswoman on Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, NBC Weekend Today, MSNBC, CNN, The Paula Deen Show, The Mike and Juliet Show, and numerous other media outlets.  Her film credits include You Again (2010), The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons, Starsky and Hutch, Looney Tunes Back in Action, A Time For Dancing, Thank Heaven! and Angels, Baby.  Television credits include The Young and the Restless, Boston Public, MTV Movie Awards, and TV Land Awards.   Gelsey has appeared in a number of commercials and industrials for Disney, ESPN, Pace Picante Sauce, Cricket Cellular, Microsoft, 7-Up, and the WNBA.  Gelsey also enjoys encouraging young dancers as a master teacher, choreographer, and adjudicator.  She has just finished shooting a movie for Disney called You Again that will be released this summer (and hopefully a huge hit!).

Kristen Dusold - NASM CPT, CES
"ADW provided me with amazing training, education, and support. The teachers at ADW have such experience, creativity and passion! I am where I am today for these reasons. ADW will always hold a special place in my heart! Thank you always and forever."
After leaving ADW, Kristen moved to Los Angeles where she danced for three different dance companies including being an inaugural member of Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Co. She also worked on camera in movies and music videos. When a knee injury took her away from dancing, Kristen became certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist to help others live a healthy and injury free life. In addition to exercise, Kristen also works for McDonald Selznick Associates who represents the top dancers and choreographers in the world!

Beth San Miguel:
“The teachers/choreographers that I had the opportunity to work with while in ADW have had a lasting impression on my dance career. I had such a blast in ADW and learned so much! I will never forget my experience and will keep those memories with me forever.”
Beth is currently living in Las Vegas! From riding a flying dolphin as Rio Rita in the Show in the Sky, to dancing with tigers and disappearing into thin air in the Magic of Rick Thomas, Vegas has provided her with some of the most interesting performance opportunities! She's currently a dancing waitress at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino to pay the bills while she auditions her little heart out!

Lauren Mayo:  “If it weren't for ADW, I would not be living in Los Angeles pursuing my dance career.”
After finishing up the EDGE Scholarship Program, Lauren signed with the dance agency McDonald Selznick Associates, also known as MSA.   Recently, she has performed with Terri Best for the annual dancing under the stars festival, Peter Chu at the Orpheum Theatre, and Disney for a Camp Rock 2 promo. Halley Willcox:
“The staff of ADW and Dancers Workshop passed on their passion for dance.  I couldn't have asked for better training or for better memories.  Dancers Workshop had the best and the hardest classes, not to mention the most talented dancers.  ADW was a lot of work and a lot of fun.  I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good dance company.”
Halley Willcox graduated from Texas Christian University in 2008 earning her BFA in Modern Dance. In 2008 she studied physical theater at Edge Hill University in England under Liam Steel former member of DV8 physical theater, as well as Momentum Theater.  Halley can be found dancing in Movement Magazine, the up coming movie "Trophy Kids" and in advertisements for TCU.  She has performed in works choreographed by Susan Douglas Roberts, Nina Martin, Alexandra Beller, Christian Von Howard, Keith Thompson, David Dorfman and Lisa Race.  In New York, Halley has performed at Greenspace, Hatch, Alvin Ailey Studios, The Kravis Children Center, Irondale Center, Judson Church and Dance New Amsterdam for APAP. Kortnee will be receiving her BA in Dance and a minor in criminal justice from California State University, Long Beach in May 2010. She has worked in entrainment at Disneyland since July 2006, dancing in various parades and shows throughout the resort.

Quint Simon:
Although she misses Dancer's Workshop, and especially ADW, Quint is happy to have joined 23 lovely ladies as part of Georgetown University Dance Company which performs professional and student choreography twice a year. Neither of her parents live in Austin anymore, so she rarely comes home, thus explaining her extreme lack of visits to the best studio in the world. : )
Quint is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.  She majored in International Politics: Foreign Policy and Policy Processes (yes, quite a mouthful!) and minored in International Development. She finished an internship at the European Parliament and in now spending 8 months this year in China learning the language and doing educational development work in rural areas.

Amy Brinegar:
Amy is a senior at Texas A & M.  She is majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Dance minor. Through the university, she continues dancing by taking ballet and modern. Amy is also a part of a student organization called Fade to Black that's a hip-hop based group.  For their fall and spring shows they do all kinds of genres of dance. After graduation, she plans to go to graduate school and be a research scientist.
