LIBBY LOVEJOY

Ms. Lovejoy holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She has a diverse background of study in many dance idioms including classical ballet, jazz, modern, tap, character, musical theatre, ethnic, period movement, effort/shape techniques and Labanotation. Libby’s many years of classical ballet include study at the American Ballet Theatre School and the Royal Academy of Dancing in London. She grew up in Southwest Louisiana where she trained with Lady Leah Hathaway and was a charter member of the Lake Civic Ballet. Ms. Lovejoy has taught on the dance faculties of many universities as well as private studios and professional academies. Her convention teachings include Regional Dance America (southwest region), Chicago National Association of Dance  Masters, Oklahoma Dance Masters Association, Texas Association Teachers of Dancing, Inc., State of the Art, and American College Dance Festival. With an avid interest in dance medicine, Libby is a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. She is a former Miss Louisiana and was 4th runner-up to Miss America. Libby currently teaches in the Round Top area, but is an integral part of Ovation’s The Nutcracker and many Dancers Workshop summer intensives.
