LAUREN SMITH

Lauren Smith received her B.A. in dance from California State University, Long Beach and has been teaching and coaching dancers for 13 years. She is a former dance faculty member at Idyllwild Arts Academy in Southern California and is the rehearsal director for Tongue Dance Project. Lauren begin her dance training at age 3 and continued on to participate in prestigious dance competitions nationwide. Lauren has assisted leading industry choreographers under Company Dance Convention and was the national title holder for several dance competitions. She has received scholarships to Broadway Dance Center and the Edge Performing Arts Center and recognition from many in her field.
In addition to her B.A.in dance, Lauren has pursued a deeper understanding of the body through the study of Ashtanga Yoga and in 2014 Lauren became a NASM certified personal trainer.
Lauren’s deep understanding of dance allows her to be a passionate, effective teacher to serious dancers throughout the country.
